Filu Ferru Rau is a traditional Sardinian brandy (grappa) made by the Rau family distillery in Sassari, Italy.

It is distilled using traditional methods, from grape pomace (the leftover skins and seeds) which is fermented and then carefully distilled to preserve the intense and characteristic aromas of the grape and typically bottled at around 40% to 45% alcohol by volume.

Grappa Rau Filuferru appears clear and crystalline to the eye, while on the nose it offers a complex and penetrating bouquet, with notes of fresh fruit and a slight hint of almond that blends with a persistent aromaticity.

On the palate, the taste is robust yet balanced, with a long and pleasantly warm finish that invites another sip. It is served after meals to help digest heavy food, it is recommended to serve it at room temperature to fully appreciate its aromatic profile.

The name "iron wire" comes from the days when secret distillers hid the spirit underground using a metal wire to avoid the police.

A true gem for lovers of traditional grappa, capable of telling the story and territory of the beautiful Sardinia.
